Abhrak (Black Mica) is essentially made up of a variety of different minerals, nutrients, and elements. Magnesium, aluminium, silicon, oxygen, and hydrogen are a few of them. A mineral known as abhrak (Black Mica) has a glossy, dark look. Granite and other metamorphic rocks are where it is mostly found.

A layer or platy texture is seen in 37 phyllosilicate minerals that make up the Abrak group. The two economically significant Abrak minerals are muscovite and phlogopite, both of which have a wide range of uses. It also has superior electrical properties as an insulator and a dielectric, and can support an electrostatic field while dissipating little energy in the form of heat. Capacitors that are suited for high frequency and radio frequency employ muscovite, the main Abhrak used by the electrical sector. Phlogopite Abrak is utilised in applications where a combination of high-heat stability and electrical characteristics is required since it is stable at higher temperatures (up to 900 °C (1,650 °F)). Used in sheet and ground forms are muscovite and phlogopite.
