IndianJadiBooti Kuda Chhal - Kutaj Chaal Chal
Kutaj, also known as Sakra, is utilised for therapeutic purposes. This plant's bark, leaves, seeds, and flowers are all used. Because of its antibacterial action, Kutaj is particularly useful in treating diarrhoea and dysentery.
Because of its astringent properties, it is also useful for treating bleeding piles. To treat diarrhoea and dysentery, Ayurveda recommends consuming Kutaj powder with water after eating light food. Because of its Ropan (healing) and Sita (cold) qualities, washing wounds with Kutaj water promotes faster wound healing.

1. Diarrhea
In Ayurveda, diarrhoea is referred to as Atisar. It is caused by poor diet, contaminated water, pollutants, mental tension, and Agnimandya (weak digestive fire). All of these variables contribute to the aggravation of Vata.
This heightened Vata takes fluid into the gut from numerous body tissues and mixes it with the excrement. This causes loose, watery bowel movements or diarrhoea. Kutaj aids in diarrhoea control by stimulating the digestive fire. Because of its Deepan (appetiser) and Pachan (digestive) characteristics. Because of its Grahi (absorbent) and Kashaya (astringent) qualities, it also thickens the stool and regulates water loss.
a. Use 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Kutaj Powder.
b. Combine with water.
c. Take it after eating light food to alleviate diarrhoea.
2. Dysentery
Kutaj is beneficial in digestive diseases such as dysentery. In Ayurveda, dysentery is called as Pravahika and is caused by vitiated Kapha and Vata doshas. In severe dysentery, intestinal inflammation causes mucus and blood to appear in the stool. By boosting the digestive fire, Kutaj aids in the regulation of mucus. This is due to the Deepan (appetiser) and Pachan (digestive) qualities of the herb. It also regulates blood pressure by lowering bowel inflammation because to its Sita (cool) and Kashaya (astringent) characteristics.
3. Bleeding piles
In Ayurveda, piles are called as Arsh and are caused by a poor diet and sedentary lifestyle. This compromises all three doshas, particularly Vata. Constipation is caused by an exacerbated Vata, which has a low digestive fire. This causes swelling in the veins of the rectum, resulting in piles. In this condition, bleeding can occur at times. Because of its Deepan (appetiser) and Pachan (digestive) qualities, Kutaj aids in the improvement of digestive fire. Because of its Kashaya (astringent) nature, it also reduces bleeding.
