IndianJadiBooti Amla Powder - Amalaki - Indian Gooseberry - Emblica officinalis

What is Amla Powder(Emblica officinalis):

Emblica officinalis, commonly known as amla or amli in South Asia, is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree native to tropical southeastern Asia. Its leaves are simple, feather-like, and closely set along the branchlets. Flowers are green-yellow, and the round, greenish-yellow fruits are smooth and hard in appearance. The fruits, which ripen in autumn and are harvested by hand, are commonly used in the Indian diet.

A method of emblica preparation was described in the first century AD in Sanskrit. Records of the medicinal use of emblica also have been found in Arabic, Tibetan, and Egyptian texts, as well as in the Sidha (Indian), Ayurvedic, and Unani systems of medicine. All parts of the plant including the fruit, seed, leaves, root, bark, and flowers are used in both dried and fresh forms. In India, the fruit is commonly eaten as a pickle.

Uses:

Emblica is a powerful antioxidant that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. The fruit is commonly dried, then powdered to make a drink called Amla Berry Juice, which can be mixed with fresh emblica juice for several hours before drying and powdering again. The process of drying and pulverizing the fruit increases its antioxidant content by 3-fold, making it more effective against common human pathogens like bacteria and viruses than other dried fruits.

It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries to treat various health conditions, including heart disease and diabetes. The berries are known to contain high levels of vitamin C and polyphenols with antioxidant properties.
