What is Amlasar or purified Gandhak?

Gandhak generally refers to sulphur used in traditional Ayurvedic pharmacy after specified purification or processing. It is not an ordinary culinary ingredient, and the exact preparation method and finished-product identity must be documented.

Are purified sulphur, Gandhak Bhasm and Gandhak Rasayan the same product?

No. These terms can refer to different raw materials, processing stages or compound formulations. A product should not combine them as automatic synonyms without a complete formula, manufacturing record and label-approved identity.

Can purified Gandhak be taken like a normal mineral supplement?

No. It should not be self-dosed or treated as elemental sulphur for casual daily use. Internal use requires a licensed finished Ayurvedic preparation and supervision from a qualified practitioner who knows the complete formula and patient history.

Who should avoid unsupervised use of Gandhak preparations?

Pregnant or breastfeeding people, children and people with liver, kidney, gastrointestinal or chronic medical conditions should not self-use them. Regular medicines and other metal or mineral preparations must also be disclosed to the practitioner.

What testing should accompany a Gandhak product?

Require licensed manufacture, batch traceability, identity and sulphur-content testing, process documentation and limits for arsenic, lead, mercury, cadmium, microbes and other contaminants. Colour or traditional terminology alone does not prove purity.

How should purified Gandhak be handled and stored?

Keep it in the original labelled container, tightly closed, dry and away from heat, flame, children, food ingredients and household powders. Do not use material with uncertain origin, damaged packaging or missing batch details.
