What is Apple Murabba?
Apple Murabba is a sweet herbal jam or preserve made by simmering fresh apples in a sugar syrup base, often infused with aromatic spices. In Ayurveda, Apple is recognized for its Madhura (sweet) and Kashaya (astringent) tastes and its Sheeta Virya (cooling potency). It is an excellent balancer for Pitta (fire) and Vata (air) doshas. It acts as a natural "Rasayana" (rejuvenator) that nourishes the vital organs and replenishes depleted energy.
Ayurvedic Benefits of Apple Murabba
1. Hridya & Shaktivardhak (Heart and Energy Tonic)
Apple Murabba is celebrated for its ability to strengthen the heart muscles and improve circulation. It is traditionally given to those recovering from long illnesses to restore physical strength (Bala) and mental vigor. It helps in managing palpitations and cardiac weakness caused by stress.
2. Pitta-Shamaka (Acidity and Heat Relief)
Due to its cooling nature, it is a highly effective remedy for hyperacidity, stomach ulcers, and heartburn. It helps in alkalizing the system and soothing the "Antardaha" (internal burning sensation) in the digestive tract.
3. Medhya (Brain and Mental Health)
Apples are rich in antioxidants that protect the brain cells. In Ayurveda, this Murabba is used to improve memory, reduce mental fatigue, and calm the nervous system. It is a wonderful dietary addition for students and professionals under high mental pressure.
4. Anulomana (Digestive Health)
Rich in natural fiber, Apple Murabba helps in regulating bowel movements. It acts as a mild "Anulomana" (carminative), ensuring that the Vata moves downwards, which helps in preventing chronic constipation and bloating.
How to Use Apple Murabba Safely
The Morning Health Ritual
Consume 1 piece of Apple Murabba every morning on an empty stomach. For maximum benefit, wash off the excess syrup and eat the fruit. Following this with a glass of warm milk enhances its "Ojas" (immunity) building properties.
Post-Meal Dessert
If you have a weak digestive fire or suffer from post-meal acidity, consuming a small portion of Apple Murabba can act as a healthy dessert that aids in cooling the stomach and preventing acid reflux.
Brain Booster for Kids
Giving a small piece of Apple Murabba to children helps in their overall growth, improves concentration, and provides a healthy alternative to processed sweets and candies.
