In a further attempt to clearly highlight any bias of taste, I don't care for the coloring of this iteration (black/green/gold) at all. Despite over a decade of covering watches, I have yet to develop even a sliver of fondness for gilt-effect coloring, and both the black and the blue versions of this watch are much more to my liking. If I were working with my own money, I'd go with the blue.
On the one hand, it's an ordinary Thursday here at Tradisyon. On the other hand, it's a big day, because Dayrit is selling his link 1956 Datejust and getting a Submariner. "I can't wear this watch in the kitchen," he says of his Datejust. "I'm partly getting this Submariner to celebrate that we're opening a second location, but I'm also getting it, and getting rid of the Datejust, to acknowledge that at the end of the day, with how much I work, I'm really a Submariner guy."
