Arlu or Shyonaka Bark has the ability to restore and stabilise. As a result, it is extremely beneficial in reducing stool frequency in diarrhoea and dysentery. Especially in dysentery where there is a lot of mucous secretion along with stools, can help to cleanse the infection and reduce mucous secretions. It also relieves bloating and abdominal pain caused by diarrhoea and dysentery.

According to Ayurveda, the abdominal region can function normally when it is free of swelling or inflammation. Also, the majority of diseases, whether minor or severe enough to cause death, are the result of an early disruption in gut functions.

Worm infestations are common in children and infants due to their proclivity to put everything in their mouth. Aralu can aid in the removal of worms from the intestines of such children.

Aralu's stabilising effect is put to use in the postpartum period. It is used in this setting to reduce bleeding and hasten healing of the uterine musculature so that the mother can quickly recover and feel normal and healthy.

Similarly, in females suffering from excessive uterine or vaginal bleeding, such as menorrhagia, fibroids, or endometriosis, Aralu can be administered in the form of a bark or leaf decoction to provide immediate relief.
