Javitri Mace is the aromatic outer shell of the nutmeg fruit, an evergreen tropical evergreen tree native from Indonesia to Malaysia, found in swampy areas.

Both the Javitri and nutmeg fruit are used as spices. Javitri also known as Mace has a less sweet taste and more volatile oil than nutmeg, for which reason it is often used as a substitute for it. Mace is used for making pickles, cakes, pastries, donuts and sauces. It is also used in cream sauces, soups and curries.

Our mace is of the highest quality and is dried in the sun to give it a slightly better nutty taste. Mace is known for its pungent aroma, and is extremely aromatic, resinous and warm in taste.
