Custard Apple Seeds / Sitafal Beej

These are the seeds of Annona squamosa, the Custard Apple or Sugar Apple. They are also known as Sitafal Beej, Sitafal Ke Beej, Sharifa Ke Beej and Shareefa Seeds.

Identity: Sharifa / Sitafal is Custard Apple in English. This pack contains whole dried seeds, not the fruit pulp.

Appearance

The seeds are hard, smooth to slightly textured, and generally dark brown to nearly black with a glossy surface.

What are Custard Apple Seeds?

These are the hard seeds of Annona squamosa, the custard apple or sugar apple. They are not the edible fruit pulp and must not be treated as a snack, spice or food ingredient.

Can Custard Apple Seeds be eaten or powdered for internal use?

No. The seeds contain biologically active compounds and can be toxic if swallowed or improperly processed. Do not chew, grind for food, brew as tea or use them as a household medicine.

Can the seeds be used near the eyes or scalp?

Do not put seed powder, paste or extract near the eyes because serious irritation and eye injury can occur. Home preparations for lice or skin conditions are unsafe, especially for children.

What should be done after accidental swallowing or eye exposure?

Rinse exposed eyes or skin promptly with plenty of clean water and seek urgent medical or poison-control advice after swallowing, eye exposure or significant symptoms. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed by a professional.
