Desi Cow Ghee / Clarified Butter

Desi Cow Ghee is clarified dairy fat traditionally prepared from cow-milk butter. It is also searched as Ghritam, Ghrit and clarified butter.

Product type: dairy-based clarified butterfat. This is not a herbal oil.

Appearance

Depending on ambient temperature, ghee may be semi-solid or liquid and typically ranges from yellow to golden. A naturally grainy texture can develop during cooling.

How to Use

Use as a culinary fat according to taste and recipe requirements. Always use a clean, dry spoon and follow the storage directions on the pack.

What is Desi Cow Ghee?

Ghee is clarified butter made by removing most water and milk solids from butter. A cow-ghee label should identify the dairy source, ingredients, batch and food-business details rather than relying only on terms such as pure or traditional.

Is Ghee completely free from milk proteins and lactose?

Properly clarified ghee usually contains very little lactose and milk protein, but it is not guaranteed free from them. People with a severe milk allergy should follow medical advice and use products with appropriate allergen controls.

How can Cow Ghee be used in cooking?

It can be used in ordinary culinary amounts for tempering, roasting, sweets or serving, according to taste and the recipe. It is calorie-dense and should not be presented as essential or as a treatment for immunity, digestion or other conditions.

How can genuine-quality Ghee be assessed?

Check the ingredient list, dairy source, aroma, texture, batch details and any applicable quality testing. Home tests based only on colour, graininess, freezing or flame behaviour cannot reliably prove authenticity.

Does Ghee need refrigeration?

Follow the label. Ghee generally keeps well when protected from moisture and contamination, but climate, packaging and formulation matter. Always use a clean, dry spoon and close the container promptly.

When should Ghee be discarded?

Discard it if it develops mould, water contamination, fermented or paint-like odour, unusual bitterness or visible foreign matter. Store it cool, dry and away from direct heat and sunlight.
