Ekadashi Vrat Pooja is conducted in households to bring prosperity, wealth, harmony, bliss, and spiritual comfort.
This day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver and sustainer of life on Earth.
The Pooja kit is curated to provide a flawless and convenient Ekadashi Vrat Pooja experience, allowing anyone to perform it effectively. Devotees observe a day-long fast to seek Moksha and find refuge in Vaikuntha, the heavenly abode of Lord Vishnu.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna underscores the significance of Ekadashi. He asserts that adhering to Ekadashi helps purify the body and mind and promotes spiritual progress. He emphasizes that Ekadashi is an occasion to deepen devotion to Krishna. It is believed that sincere and devout fasting on this day attracts the blessings of the deities, especially Lord Vishnu, who is intimately connected with Ekadashi, thereby bringing spiritual upliftment, guidance, and a sense of protection. An altar is set up with images or idols of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, and offerings of fruits, flowers, and sweets are made. Throughout the day, devotees maintain a strict fast, consuming only water or fruits and practicing celibacy.
"Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye" - Repeating this mantra 108 times is believed to alleviate all kinds of problems, whether physical or mental. Ekadashi is regarded as an auspicious day, and reciting Vishnu Sahasranama on this day is considered extremely rewarding and meritorious, helping individuals absolve all types of sins. Ekadashi fasting spans three days. Devotees eat a single meal in the afternoon on the day before Ekadashi (Dasami) to ensure no food remains in the stomach the next day. On Ekadashi, they maintain a strict fast without food or water, breaking it the next day (Dwadashi) only after sunrise. If one lies or becomes angry often, the benefits of Ekadashi fasting may not be realized.
Avoid tobacco and tea: On Ekadashi, one should abstain from consuming tobacco, paan, and tea to prevent the accumulation of negative karma. Avoid foods such as rice, meats, onions, garlic, and lentils on this day. The fast must be broken during the Purna Muhurta on the next day. If a complete fast is not possible, devotees may consume milk-based foods, dried fruits, fruits, and vegetables. Nirjala translates to 'without water.'
