तत्त्फलं बृंहणं वृष्यं गुरु केश्यं रसायनम्। वातपित्ततृषारक्तक्षयमूत्रविबन्धनुत् ॥

स्वादु पार्क हिमं स्निग्धं तुवराम्लं विशुद्धिकृत् । हन्याद दाहतृषावातरक्तपित्तक्षतक्षयान् ॥ - भावप्रकाश

Attributed with Deepan (stimulating appetite) and Pachan (aiding digestion) qualities, Giloy is instrumental in promoting digestive health. It is also effective in alleviating excessive thirst, discomfort, and the sensation of burning by harmonizing the three Doshas. The consistent consumption of Giloy can contribute to heightened energy and immunity due to its Balya (providing strength) and Rasayana (revitalizing) effects.

Giloy bitter flavor may aid in the control of blood sugar levels for those with diabetes, in addition to facilitating weight management through the improvement of metabolic processes.

Consuming fresh juice extracted from Giloy can enhance immune function and serve as a remedy for fevers, thanks to its antipyretic (fever-reducing) properties. It is also recognized for its potential in raising platelet counts, offering support in the treatment of dengue fever.
