There are five ways to worship Panchmukhi Hanuman:

  • Yachnam (pleading)

  • Arpanam (offering)

In the Geeta, Lord Krishna instructed Arjuna on the paths to reach him. According to Him, those who act solely for Him, who focus exclusively on Him, who are His devoted followers, and who are free from attachments will find Him.

Lord Hanuman epitomizes all these five qualities as a devoted follower of Lord Rama (one of the many incarnations of Lord Vishnu). The significance of Panchmukhi Hanuman lies in these representations of the number five:

  • He is the son of the wind (vayu), one of the five elements.

  • He navigated one of the five elements—Water—by crossing the ocean during the Ramayana.

  • He traversed the Sky to reach Lanka and rescue Laxmana.

  • He encountered the daughter of the Earth (another of the five elements)—Mata Sita.

  • He used Fire (one of the five elements) to burn down Lanka.

Importance & Benefits of Panchmukhi Hanuman Idol

Devotees use the Hanuman Kavach to worship the five-headed Hanuman. Installing a Panchmukhi Hanuman idol at home, along with Hanuman Kavach, allows for the worship of Maruti Nandana. This idol provides many benefits, such as protection from evil forces, elimination of fear, and rectification of vastu doshas.
