Kateri, also referred to as Kantakari and Bhatkataiya, is known by numerous names in Hindi, including Chhoti Katai, Bhatkaiya, Rangani, Rigoni, Katali, and Katayali. This prickly plant grows along the ground and is often found in abundance in shrubs and forests, typically regarded as a wild plant.
