Kachnar Powder is a beautiful flowering tree (often called the Orchid Tree). In Ayurvedic medicine, we use the dried bark ground into a fine powder.

Its Energetic Profile:

• Rasa (Taste): Kashaya (Astringent). It "tightens" and "shrinks" tissues.
• Guna (Quality): Rooksha (Dry) and Laghu (Light).

• Virya (Potency): Sheeta (Cooling).

• Vipaka (Post-Digestive Effect): Katu (Pungent), which helps in clearing toxins.
  
   

How to Use Kachnar Powder

The effectiveness of Kachnar depends heavily on the Anupana (vehicle) used to carry it to the specific gland or tissue.

1. For Thyroid Support (Hypothyroidism/Goiter)

• Dosage: 3g to 5g (approx. 1 teaspoon).
• Vehicle: Warm Water or mixed with a little Honey.
• Timing: Twice daily, 30 minutes before meals.
• Consultant’s Tip: For better results, boil the powder in water to make a Kashayam (decoction), reducing 2 cups of water to 1/2 cup.

2. For Cysts, Lipomas, or Swollen Lymph Nodes

• Dosage: 3g.
• Vehicle: Take with Kanchanar Guggulu tablets or warm water.
• Timing: Twice daily, after meals.

3. For PCOS and Fibroids

• Dosage: 3g to 5g.
• Vehicle: Dashmoolarishta (fermented herbal liquid) or warm water.
• Timing: Twice daily.

4. For Skin Toning & Wound Healing (External)

• How: Mix the powder with a little water to make a thick paste.
• Application: Apply locally to non-healing ulcers or swollen glands. Wash off once dry.
