What is Amla Murabba?
Amla Murabba is a traditional Ayurvedic conserve made by processing fresh Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) in a sugar or honey base. In Ayurveda, Amla is one of the very few fruits that contain five of the six tastes (all except salty). It has a Sheeta Virya (cooling potency) and is a unique Tridosha-Hara, meaning it balances Vata, Pitta, and Kapha simultaneously, though it is most celebrated for its ability to pacify Pitta (fire).
Ayurvedic Benefits of Amla Murabba
1. Vyadhikshamatva (Immunity Booster)
Amla is the richest natural source of Vitamin C. Consuming it in the form of Murabba helps strengthen the immune system, making the body resilient against seasonal infections, colds, and flu. it nourishes the "Ojas"—the vital essence of health.
2. Pitta-Shanti (Acidity and Heat Relief)
Due to its cooling nature, Amla Murabba is a premier remedy for hyperacidity, gastritis, and stomach ulcers. It helps in alkalizing the digestive system and provides relief from "Daha" (burning sensations) in the chest and throat.
3. Keshya & Twachya (Hair and Skin Health)
Regular consumption of Amla Murabba purifies the blood and boosts collagen production. It helps in preventing premature greying of hair, reduces hair fall, and provides a natural glow to the skin by removing internal toxins.
4. Chakshushya (Eye Health Support)
In Ayurvedic texts, Amla is designated as "Chakshushya," meaning it is highly beneficial for the eyes. It helps in reducing eye strain, improves vision clarity, and prevents age-related macular degeneration by cooling the Pitta located in the eyes.
