Shalparni has a bitter and sweet flavour. The root of this plant is one of the ingredients of the well-known Ayurvedic medicine Dasmoola. Because of its antipyretic properties, shalparnia aids in fever management. It is also beneficial for respiratory issues such as bronchitis since it relaxes the respiratory airways and reduces inflammation due to its bronchodilator and anti-inflammatory qualities. This allows free flow of air to the respiratory passages, making breathing easier.
Shalparni is excellent for male sexual health according to Ayurveda since it helps to control problems like premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction due to its Vrishya (aphrodisiac) nature. It promotes blood flow to the penis and aids in the maintenance of an erection.Taking Shalparni powder with water on a regular basis helps to improve male sexual health.
Because of its astringent and anti-inflammatory characteristics, shalparni aids in the management of piles by lowering inflammation at the anal region. Because of its Pitta balancing and Shothhar (anti-inflammatory) characteristics, using Shalparni powder with water helps with piles.
Because of its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory characteristics, shalparni aids in wound healing by preventing infections and reducing inflammation. Because of its antifungal characteristics, applying Shalparni leaf paste on the scalp decreases dandruff and hairfall. Ayurvedic medicine recommends applying Shalparni leaf powder and rose water to the forehead to relieve headaches.
Bronchitis
Shalparni is effective in treating bronchitis. Bronchitis is referred to as Kasroga in Ayurveda and is caused by poor digestion. Poor food and insufficient waste removal result in the production of Ama (toxic leftovers in the body due to incorrect digestion) in the form of mucus in the lungs.
This causes bronchitis.
Shalparni has Ushna (hot) and Kapha balancing properties.
It decreases Ama and removes extra mucus from the lungs.
It relieves bronchitis symptoms when used together.

Arthritis Rheumatoid
In Ayurveda, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is known as Aamavata. Amavata is a disorder in which the Vata dosha is vitiated and Ama (toxic residues in the body due to incorrect digestion) accumulates in the joints. Amavata begins with a weak digestive fire, which leads to Ama buildup. This Ama is delivered by Vata to various sites, but instead of being absorbed, it accumulates in the joints. Shalparni's Ushna (hot) potency aids with Ama reduction. It also has Vata balancing properties and hence provides relief from Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms such as joint pain and swelling.
