I would say that compared with the brand's more subtle dial designs, I am quite a fan of this one that's a touch more "in your face than" I expect from a brand whose identity is so based on a sense of restrained elegance.
In 2017, Blancpain introduced the Fifty Fathoms "Tribute to Mil-Spec," a limited edition of 500 pieces. It's a tribute to the original Milspec 1, most recognizable because of the humidity indicator at six o'clock. It was a decent release, but – gah! – that 4:30 date window ruined it for some (the sapphire caseback and $14,100 MSRP ruined it for others). Still, it was nice to see Blancpain explicitly reference specific models of the Fifty Fathoms for the first time in who knows how long.
