Talispatra is a Himalayan coniferous medicinal tree. In Ayurveda, it is known as Talispatra, in Siddha as Talispatri, and in Unani as Talisapattar. The leaves of the tree are utilised for therapeutic purposes. Fresh or dried leaves can be used as a tincture, infusion, or confection. They are most commonly used to treat upper and lower respiratory tract infections. 

The powdered leaves, combined with Vasaka leaf juice and honey, are used to cure asthma, coughing, and blood vomiting. The leaves are used externally to treat rheumatic and neuralgic problems.

Talispatra's Ayurvedic Properties and Action :

Talis / Talisha in Ayurveda is made out of dried needle-like leaves of Abies webbiana. It has a sweet, bitter, and pungent flavour, as well as a scorching potency.
It is mostly used to treat respiratory diseases, phthisis, and excessive phlegm. It is beneficial to the heart, increases hunger, and balances Vata and Kapha. 

Talisadi Churna, made from Talisa Patra (Abies webbiana leaf), Trikatu, Dalchini (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), ela (Elettaria cardamomum), Vanshalochna (Bambusa arundinacea), and Misri, is used to cure asthmatic bronchitis, asthma, cough, and digestive issues. It lowers the frequency and intensity of asthmatic attacks in people with chronic asthma.

Medicinal Uses of Talispatra:

Asthma, Bronchitis, Cough, Fever, Gas, Headache, Hemoptysis, Hoarseness, Neuralgia, Phthisis, and Splenosis are all suggested by the leaf powder / juice of Abies webbiana or Talispatra (acquired condition defined as autotransplantation of viable splenic tissue throughout different anatomic compartments of the body). The leaves' essential oil is used to cure colds, rheumatism, and nasal congestion. 

Low appetite:

To improve hunger, 2-3 grams of the leaf powder are eaten.
